Mexico - Getting There

Flights operate daily from Auckland via a number of different routes and airlines. Flights are not direct so the duration depends on which airlines and routing you take. 

Getting Around Mexico

Air: It is cheaper to book before you leave your home country and many larger and smaller cities have airports. 

Bus: Bus services frequent and connect cities at a reasonable price.

Car & Motorcycle: Rental is expensive and driving can be hard, however if you are keen to explore having your own car gives you maximum flexibility.

Boat: Ferries connect the Mainland and Baja California.

Taxi: Economical and found in most cities.

Metro: Metro’s can be found in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey.

Mexico’s Weather and Climate

Mexico has a diverse landscape; as such there are significant variations in climate throughout the country. Both coasts have their own weather patterns. Though there are two main seasons, the rainy and the dry season.

In Cancun June to August reach the hottest temperatures while Mexico City sees its highest temperatures in April and May. The dry season, November to May is followed by the rainy season which often sees four moths of significant rainfall.

High humidity in the Coastal areas leads to hurricane season in August and October where severe flooding can occur.

Overall Mexico's weather and climate can be classified as temperate and tropical and as such there is no bad time of year to visit Mexico.
