Calakmul, possibly the largest Mayan city in the world. Other favourites include, Uxmal, Chicen Itza, Ek Balam and Palenque.
Mexico has over 7,000 cenotes, a naturally accuring phenomenon, they are unique underground sink holes that were believed to be sacred in Mayan times. Don’t miss Ik-Kil, Dos Ojos and Gran Cenote (San Aktun).
