Hidden Villa is an unexpected gem the quiet, whitewashed village of Montecorto. The design of this one of a kind property is inspired, and a pleasant surprise in such a traditional village. The rocky mountainside has been incorporated into the house itself, so that one side of living area is natural rock, complete with plants growing from it. The interior is spacious, tastefully decorated and open plan, while the views from the terrace and infinity pool are breathtaking. At night you can sit out, enjoy the millions of starts you can see here, and breathe in the scent of jasmine in the air. Ideal for a couple, it's a romantic little hideaway where you are guaranteed not to be disturbed by anything more intrusive than birdsong in the mornings.

Staying in Hidden Villa is like having a boutique hotel to yourself, we fell in love with it the first time we visited, and we keep going back. The house itself is big and airy, with lots of space to live in, and all the things you need - a brilliant music system so that you can pipe music through the house from your iPod, a great big kitchen to cook all those lovely alfresco dinners, and even a guitar if you fancy a strum ( my husband loves the guitar). But what makes Hidden Villa so special is it's location, set at the top of a small village, in a national park, the views are spectacular, it is like an ever changing painting that mesmerises you. We spend all day on the terrace listening to the wind in the trees, the natural spring nearby, and even the sound of the pine cones opening as it is so peaceful. Then when we are too hot we plop into the deep plunge pool, bliss. Guy and Paqui always do everything to make our stay wonderful. We love Hidden Villa, it really is a very special place.

The property is spacious, clean, well decorated and comfortable with great views. The owner, Guy, is a wealth of knowledge about the area and is happy to give suggestions for day trips, restaurants, hiking etc. He's even written a book about local trails that is a great resource. During our extended stay, we enjoyed relaxing, local hikes, a motorcycle ride and a day trip to Ronda where we had the best tapas of our life at De locos tapas! A MUST try if you're in the area. Enjoy!
