We stayed at the Villa in May 2013 whilst we were getting married. Everything about the Villa is spectacular, the pictures on the Internet are amazing but cannot do the experience of staying at the Villa justice. This place is amazing. The owners are also fantastic. Helped plan details of our stay well in advance and were very accommodating. I would recommend anyone wanting a real taste of Tuscany should stay here.

We have stayed here twice now and have found it to be an absolutely splendid villa. It is centrally located, yet private, with beautiful views toward San Gimignano. The charm of an historic building is matched by the quality of its recent renovation. It has good gathering spaces, yet everyone can have privacy when they want it. Bedrooms and baths (all en suite) are first-rate, and the kitchen is a cook's delight. The pictures are great, but even they don't do it justice. Most of all the owners go out of their way to make your stay special indeed, and can arrange virtually anything a group would want to do. Simply put, this is the best villa we have found since we started using villas in Italy about 12 years ago. You can't go wrong with this one.

Beautifully appointed villa in peaceful location overlooking the magnificent Tuscan countryside. Numerous indoor and outdoor entertaining areas and securely fenced pool in a spacious garden setting. Vistas of San Gimignano in the distance. We were a group of 16, including children, and yet were always able to find a quiet place of solitude within the premises. The fantastic kitchen and amenities made self-catering easy and we also enjoyed the delicious cuisine prepared by the cook the hosts arranged for us for several meals.

My husband and I and 12 friends flew from Australia for my 50th birthday to this villa. Wow!! The photos do not show how beautiful it is. When we drove down to the Villa and could see San Gimignano in the distance I cried. Every room was spectacular, the furnishings are beautiful. We are all food lovers and the kitchen enabled everyone to get in and enjoy. There are so many living spaces that if you need private time it is easy. The owners could not have done more for us and the chef gave us a fun and informative cooking class. Definitely worth a visit and in summer you can use the pool. Thank you.

An outstanding week in a gorgeous setting! From start to finish, it was just an amazing experience and our 4 month old baby loved his first foreign holiday experience - it will be pretty hard to match it and it will take a while to recover from the Tuscan food and drink overload but many happy memories from a lovely holiday. We stayed at this outstanding villa while celebrating a friend's birthday. Eleven adults were easily comfortable in this large, well-appointed home. All bedrooms are en suite, with two being master suites. There is excellent heating throughout, including the atrium passageway between the two historic structures. A recent and well thought out remodel has achieved today's expected comfort level without sacrificing the vintage charm of a typical Tuscan stone estate. Three living rooms, mammoth dining room and spacious, modern kitchen allow you to spread out and relax. The topper is the view from the Villa's oversized windows across the checker-boarded val d'elsa of San Gimiagano with its towers silhouetted in the morning light. The owners of this villa were warm and responsive to all of our needs. Their cook prepared our first night's dinner and it brought a standing ovation from all of us at the meal's conclusion. BTW - The sound of applause in the two-story dining room is joyous and energizing. We found ourselves applauding throughout our visit for the slightest reason - i.e. the appearance of the appetizers, the opening of a bottle of wine, the conclusion of dinner - you get the idea. I asked the owners for suggestions for a mineral bath and a horseback ride excursion. Prompt response from owner resulted in a relaxing afternoon soak in the town of Bagna Vignoni. The last full day at the Villa we had a pleasurable ride through the rolling countryside on delightful horses owned by neighboring villa. This was the perfect place for the perfect Tuscan vacation/birthday party. Ciao!

Everything about the villa was wonderful; the accommodations were comfortable and the landscape was gorgeous. The hosts were kind and available to help with ay concern at the villa or in recommending sights it see.

There were 10 adults in our party ranging from 17-70 years of age and every single one of them had the best stay of their life! From the moment our host personally met us late at night on the side of the road to direct us into the property; to the exhilaration of walking through every tastefully renovated room in the entire 1000 year old villa; to the majestic view from every window; to the cosy fireplaces situated throughout various rooms; to the locally grown wine and olive oil stored in our massive kitchen; to the great location of the villa itself - we could not fault this place or the service! There was literally not anything too much to ask of our hosts! They organised sensational local chefs to perform personalised cooking classes and several 4/5 course dinners all in the luxury of the villas magnificent formal dining room. They set up a gorgeous Christmas tree for us to put our presents under. When my father had to be rushed to hospital by ambulance they were there BEFORE the ambulance even arrived to assist in translating everything into Italian for us. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The majority of our family works in hospitably and not one of us could believe the level of personalised service and attention to detail that was provided by the owners. It was our first time not staying in a five star hotel and we were a bit nervous about what it would be like, but we continued around Europe in 5 star hotels for another 6 weeks after our stay at Villa d'Elsa and honestly NOTHING compared!!! If you want the best holiday/experience of your life you MUST stay here... Nothing else will suffice!

Villa d'Elsa is centrally located between Florence and Siena with easy excursions in an around Tuscany and Chianti. We made easy day trips north to Pisa and Lucca and to San Gimignano. The proprietors are superb! They helped coordinate our outings if we asked and pointed us toward sights we hadn't considered. And on top of it all, they were wonderful company. The villa itself is spectacular and the accommodations could not have been more comfortable. The kitchen is lovely and large and made us want to visit local markets and come home and cook. The bedrooms and baths are luxurious and there are numerous gatherings spots throughout the villa, inside and out, where we could enjoy some quiet isolation or all convene to share the company of our group of eight travelers. This is a place we plan to return to - over and over again.

This large and luxurious villa, perfectly renovated with respect for its origin and modern taste was our base for one nice week of family vacation in July. The terrace and room window view is breath taking as you overlook wine and olive fields. The location just in the middle between Florence and Sienna in the heart for the Chianti district is perfect for food and wine lovers. The local cook preparing dishes from around the area with respect, is very good. Local sights just a few kilometers away are great. Our kids spend whole days in the pool. And with everyday cleaning the site maintained it's high standard. The only very little minus is the gravel road taking you to the Villa, it is in desperate need of some maintenance. Thanks for a week in luxury and local Tuscan authenticity!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying and marrying here in September 2014. We rented the property for a week accompanied by both of our immediate families (12 people total). The property, the facilities, the owners, and the surrounding area were all fantastic. The villa owners were very accommodating and welcoming. They helped us coordinate a few activities (truffle hunting, Florence site-seeing) and a wonderful welcome dinner. The villa facilities were wonderful. The appliances and furnishings were top-notch and the view of the Tuscan country-side was phenomenal. Our group was 12 adults, but the villa could have easily accommodated another 4 people. Our wedding was coordinated by a Florence-based wedding planner, but our hosts were very helpful as well. There is a patio area overlooking the countryside that is perfect for a small wedding. They will stock the wine cabinet with red and white wine made from the grapes on his property (the wine is very reasonably priced and you pay for what you open). There are several towns/villages within a 15 minute drive so it's easy to shop at the local market or eat at a nearby restaurant. Our week at the Villa was a once in a lifetime experience and we highly recommend it. I'm already looking for an excuse to plan another trip there in the future.
