The villa is in the main centre of Cavtat within 2 minutes walk of restaurants, supermarket and promenade. Lovely courtyard for having breakfast and has both sun and shade throughout the day. The upper terrace has sun all day (and is very hot). The photos do not do justice to the wonderful view of the bay and yachts from this terrace, which was also nice to sit and have a drink after a night out. Nicely furnished with comfortable beds and good bathroom facilities. All rooms have ensuite - although if you use the downstairs sofa bed to accommodate six, you need to walk through this room to access the main two bedrooms. Reliable internet and although we did not watch TV there did seem to be a number of English channels. Kitchen facilities basic - no microwave or pop-up toaster, and the fridge does not have an icebox if you like ice in your drinks. Booking was through an agent with good initial contact, but we did have to prompt for access arrangements. Once we were referred to the owner she was helpful in arranging to meet us and show us the easiest way to the villa, showed us around and responded quickly to our request for an umbrella for the upper terrace. Cavtat itself is a magical place, small and friendly with lots of good restaurants, and nice easy walks around the peninsulas and bays. Entertaining to watch the superyachts manouvering to dock at the promenade. Behind the promenade the streets of the old town are steps, some easier than others so recommend you keep luggage light (washing machine in villa was useful). Steps in the old town and to the bedrooms of the villa may not be suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. We stayed in Dubrovnik prior to our visit to Cavtat, but it would be a good base if you wanted to stay away from the crowds but visit Dubrovnik during the day or in the evening - plenty of little ferry boats every half hour. We would consider staying at this property again, mainly because of the location, terraces and great views.
