Best recommended activities in & around Colombo:

Explore the city and its stunning architecture in a Took Took (3 wheeled taxi). Walk down Galle road and indulge your inner shopaholic. Take a day trip to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage where you can play and feed the elephants.

For the young and the young at heart – visit some of the hottest bars and nightclubs including SKKY bar, Sugar,  Amuseum, Kama and Silk or hit the Bally’s Casino.

Favorite places to eat in Colombo:

Colombo is home to some of the best seafood that Asia has to offer so we recommend going to Lagoon for a gourmet experience, Beach Wadiya on the beach for a relaxing vibe or the Ministry of Crab for something in the middle.

Other great restaurants we recommend include il ponte for italian, Nihonbashi for Japanese, Tao, Ginza Hohsen and Spoons.

What to pack?

Colombo has a very tropical climate so sunscreen is absolutely essential. Light breezy cotton tops and shorts are recommended during the day. Upscale restaurants, bars and nightclubs have a strict dress code so men will need to pack a pair of long pants, covered shoes and a shirt. Ladies can get away with anything but if you want to keep in line with the trendy Colombo crowd high heels and a cocktail dress will go a long way.
