Perfect for our large group of 12 adults. Great views and excellent facilities. Huge range of glassware, platters etc for entertaining, and the table can seat 14 in the main area! Huge plus. Espresso machine, coffee plunger, underfloor heating in bathrooms etc, all great. Excellent Property Manager too - kind Easter present of snack goodies for Easter Sunday was a lovely bonus. Would definitely go back for the views, accommodation, location and comfort. THANK YOU!

Our group of eight (six adults and two children) had overall a good stay at Top of the Lake. We loved the location which is close to the center of Queenstown (although very steep in one part but that was no problem for us), and the view from the living area. There was lots of bedrooms and an abundance of sleeping options so it is ideal for large groups. However it wasn’t as luxurious as we were expecting - rather it was a little run-down and in need of maintenance. There were many light bulbs which needed replacing, a kitchen draw missing a handle, loose toilet seats, stains on sofa cushions, and some of the glasswear was dirty. Just not what we were expecting.

Such a great holiday for our party of 10 adults and three kids. Perfect location and views to die for. A fully equipped kitchen with little extras like bikes to use and extra towels for our stay. Absolutely recomend it! The hill back up from town is steep so might be a struggle for some but the views are definitely worth it! !

The accomodation was great for 2 families. The location was fantastic. It was nice there was lots of towels, and the place was clean. The kitchen was very well equipped too. The Property Manager was helpful. Bit disappointing there was no Sky and it took a while to work it out for ourselves, then 2 days before the Sky technician installed the Sky box and fixed the TV downstairs so that worked. Would've been nice if someone told us before we arrived. Apart from that I would highly recommend the accomodation.

We could easily walk into town and with there being so many different attractions in Queenstown - all ages had something to do every day. The accommodation was excellent in every sense. More importantly the back up team was easy to contact and they made every effort to meet our requirements.

We are a family group of 11 (including a toddler). The layout, furnishing and general amenity were well presented and well thought out, allowing us to have a great, trouble free stay. The complex of buildings is reasonably maintained and presented no issues. The team on the ground ( Juliet's team) were helpful and very willing to assist with any issue we raised.

Myself and my family really enjoyed our stay at Top Of The Lake. The house itself was well presented with an amazing view of Queenstown and the lake. The only disappointing thing was the WiFi. For a house that easily caters for 10 to 15 people, the WiFi could, at best, handle one or two devices before completely failing and having on-going connection problems for some time afterwards.

Wow what a view! Every morning walking up to the kitchen and looking out over Queenstown was amazing. It really is a breathtaking view. Didn't want to leave it after our week stay. The fire place is great and adds to the ambience of the place. The rooms were good except the downstairs fold out couch was broken and they couldn't put it away which made that room pretty much unusable while we were there which was disappointing considering we had 4 kids and the extra TV would have been handy. It was very clean and spacious. Having a code as your key was great as we all a came and went at different times. The only negative would be that it needs a bit of maintenance, some of the floor heating didn't work and some of the towel racks didn't warm up. Oh and I forgot to mention the hill from town to the house!!! If you are elderly it would be hard to walk up. It is very steep. But overall an amazing stay would definitely recommend it.

This apartment is the best located of the 4 times I have stayed in Queenstown. Bring your lungs as the hill that this place sits is a leg burner from town but to be only a few minutes walk and still have a view is worth it. The place is comfortable and the ease of check in/out is a real timesaver, no picking up/dropping off keys etc.

ENTRY The keycode door lock is very easy to use, no door keys required but there is one for numerically-challenged or forgetful guests. A fairly large entrance hallway area that is big enough to accommodate several people preparing to leave at the same time or upon returning, especially from the snow resorts. What was immediately noticable was the undertile heating. It can be found under every internal tiled area and it was literally awesome and probably one of the best luxury aspects of he property. LOUNGE AND DINING Generally excellent, lots of comfy cosy room for everyone, a very good easy to start open gas fire, great satellite television (limited channels) for those that want it. MAIN BALCONY Although we didnt use it because we stayed there in winter. The balcony is excellent with frameless glass balustrade offering great views towards the town centre, mountains and water from within the lounge and dining, not just from the balcony. It is very large and could easily fit several people at the same time. We didnt view or use what appears to be a four burner bbq but it would be a fantastic place to enjoy a BBQ in the summer I imagine. There are large bean bags. KITCHEN Kitchen is sufficiently sized and open plan, so great for big groups. The powder room is of a good size and conveniently located right next to the kitchen and lounge, so you dont have to keep traipsing up and down stairs with tired legs to use the bathroom. DRYING ROOM Great drying room, although it is probably a little small for ten people to use after a day on the slopes however they do provide a large wall mounted clothes hanger & dryer in the garage to account for this. GARAGE & PARKING Parking is parallel to; and right up against the garage door, or up on the top street. As far as I am aware guests arent permitted to park inside the garage, even if you were it would not fit anything but a micro/mini sized car due to other items stored within, including half a dozen mountain bikes, which we didnt use but appear to be suprisingly good quality bikes. There is also a wall mounted clothes dryer and even a number of great electronic boot dryers/airers. That being said, it was relatively easy to find a park on the top road - just a few minutes walk away on Hallenstein Road JACUZZI/SPA Great for refreshing the body after day on the mountain. An easy to use mechanism makes it a lot easier to remove/replace the cover, but perhaps still a two person job. It has a good view of the Skyline Gondola mountain, but not the lake/town as it is on the bottom floor courtyard and is overshadowed by the adjacent property. Its not the most private of locations for it, but probably the only place for it really. It serves its purpose as a place to recover and relax should you need it. Permitted use is only till 10pm after that there is pre-advised risk of complaints, which could cost you a N$550 disturbance slug to your credit card. NB. I was concerned about this but was appeased sufficiently by the owners before we arrived. We didnt encounter any such issues but we were a group of 10 mainly in our 30s and were knackered most evenings anyway. For this very reason though, I wouldnt recommend this property for groups of whippersnappers in their 20s intent on having epic 'we-dont-care-about-the-neighbours' jacuzzi and balcony parties until the early hours. BEDROOMS Bedrooms are cosy, nicely furnished, and have wall mounted heaters making them sufficiently heated. The only slight issue we found with most of the rooms was that there is very little room around the sides of the beds, so it was difficult to find floor space for even one suitcase open/closed. We found we were stepping over them a lot and unfortunately the wardrobes were not quite deep enough to to fit them fully inside whilst open, which prevented the sliding doors from being closed which in turn meant you couldnt easily access the other side of the wardrobe. The robe/drawers, in our room at least, were not big enough for two suitcases worth of clothes so emptying the cases was not an option. Not a massive issue at the end of the day especially if you dont intend on spending most of your time in the bedroom though, but if you're the sort of person who takes the kitchen sink with you when you travel then it could be an issue. THE HILL If you've read the reviews like we did before we stayed then you should know about the hill. Obviously is subjective opinion, but we didnt find it at all bad and doesnt actually take that long to get up and down it. That being said I wouldnt recommend it for the elderly, infirm or lazy, unless you have a car or are prepared to get taxis to circumvent the issue. CUSTOMER SERVICE Of the interaction we have had with the booking website and owners we were extremely happy. We were told we would be contacted by the property manager to coordinate checkin and be paid a welcome orientation visit on our day of arrival but to the best of my knowledge neither happened. Fortunately the owner provided excellent information by email and in their onsite guest guides so the onsite assistance wasnt really needed in the end. OVERALL We would definitely stay here again, especially after the owners renovate it after end of the current snow season. Great location, excellent lounge and dining, warm, killer views from the balcony and close enough to town. I would recommend this property to others.

I came here with a group of teenagers from Texas with our nonprofit organization, and I could not have been more happy with the accommodation and staff. Juliet made sure we had everything we needed, and even rushed us a new french press when the other one was found broken. Cheers to yall for making our Queenstown experience one for the ages!

Fabulous place to stay, really good location, walk to town, but if you needed to catch a cab it was only $7. Well stocked up with all the crockery and cutlery and glasses, serving plates you would need. Excellent views, fitted our 9 people easily. Would certainly recommend it for large families or couples, though we had to use the fold out bed downstairs and it doesn't have access to a bathroom, (the bathroom downstairs is accessed of the 2 bedrooms) so that was a minor downfall as he had to climb to the top story to access a toilet. Overall though is was a great stay and the photos represent the place well.

Top of the Lake was a great place to stay for a few families coming together in Queenstown. It was warm and cozy with enough space for all 13 of us. Thing to note is that there are only 3 showers, so things were pretty busy in the morning, but still worth it as it meant everyone was still in the same house. The location and view was amazing, the best of several Queenstown holiday homes we have stayed at in the past. The only trouble was that we managed to get ourselves locked out more than once, and the door bell was not working. A quick call to the property manager however, was all we needed to get the spare key to get back in. Overall, a fantastic stay, and everyone was well impressed with the property. We will definitely be back again if we are back in Queenstown as a group.
