I have just had the pleasure of spending 10 days at this amazing bush hideaway. It has the most wonderful views out over the valleys which straight away let the stress melt away. The view was always changing. It's extremely quiet. We were able to do nothing and just relax, or explore the region. We did both, visiting most of the bays, taking quads up 90 mile beach, re-visiting the Cape, checking out the local markets and learning more about the history of the various places within a wide area. The driveway is steep and makes for a good walking challenge, while taking in the bush aroma and beauty. The smell of honey from the hives is something else, as you reach the bottom. Everything about the house and the amenities speaks quality. The house is eco-friendly, and everything including the power is taken care of on site. It doesn't miss a beat. The cleaning was done to a high standard with added special touches, such as fresh flowers, and chocolates. Whether you are looking for a complete break away or a hide away with options, you would be hard pressed to find anything in the region that matches this. My husband and daughter fully agree and we all highly recommend this.

We stayed here a couple of months ago and still now I think of it everyday. It was the most unexpected and beautiful place - insisting that you relax and appreciate everything good about life. With nature embodied and surrounding, you are subjected to the moment and are constantly reminded to take a step back from everything and indulge in life! Our hosts were the most warm and genuine people, and this generosity and dedication to others has trickled into every corner of the house, so that you not only experience nature, but also the good nature of the human spirit! I can not recommend this place enough. If you stay there, you will not only "get away" but you will become a part of something inspired and real - a dream that has been realised. Thank you! - I'm sorry it has taken us a little while to get this up - can't wait to be part of it again :)

This hideaway is truly a place to hide. From the stress of everyday life, traffic, other people... This is just you and nature, in a brand new luxury cabin in the middle of the forrest. The value is very very good, it is almost too cheap. It is absolutely spotless! We were greeted by the wonderful hostess upon arrival, and given a quick tour of the property. We spent three days doing nothing, and we loved every minute of it. We are very well traveled, and I must say - this was maybe the nicest surprise of our 7 weeks traveling. Especially when it comes to value, but also location and quality. Good work!!

Booked this house on a whim after seeing a deal. And wow, it certainly exceeded our expectations! We were greeted by the owner at the gate, one of the kindest and most hospitable hosts I have encountered. As soon as we stepped inside, we felt right at home. Warm gas fire, comfortable beds and the plush robes kept us very cosy! The views are simply stunning, an absolute delight to wake up to in the morning. The breakfast provisions are generous indeed - we thoroughly enjoyed the bacon and eggs! Overall, this hideaway provided us with the ultimate escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Was great to be able to spend a few days in absolute peace and quiet. We won't be forgetting this one in a hurry!

Our stay at this house was absolutely perfect. The log cabin offers luxury accommodation with everything you need on hand. The outside bath tub was a special treat - soaking under the stars with kiwis calling in the surrounding forest was quite an experience. Some of the iconic New Zealand sights are all an easy drive away, although relaxing at the Hideaway may be all the therapy needed. The cottage has two separate bedroom suites and could accommodate two couples in total privacy. The spectacular views to the north stretch all the way to Cape Reinga. The Hideaway is to the south of Kaitaia, a little under four hours drive from Auckland. If you like the bustle of tourists and shops selling ersatz souvenirs, go somewhere else. If you are searching for privacy, peace and tranquility, then this is your place.

The perfect getaway to relax and enjoy nature. The property is stunning and the views are extremely breathtaking. It was so peaceful and allowed us to just focus on ourselves and leave the city life behind for a few days. The house was extremely clean. We were treated to luxurious spa products with clean white slippers and fresh bath robes. The owners were such hospitable hosts. We really appreciated the fresh flowers, breakfast treats and chocolates provided to us. With no doubt we highly recommended you stay here. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house and we will definitely be back!

Absolutely stunning accommodation in what was one of the most picture perfect locations I have had the pleasure of staying in. The hosts were amazing and very tolerant of us getting late on account of me being a bit silly with my route and getting late. Rochelle and I enjoyed every second of this wonderful getaway. The place is so immaculately well kept and the views are incredible. The photos they have do not do it justice - and I don't think even a professional photographer could capture the sheer beauty of this place. So many subtle factors tie in together to make this accommodation so special. The hosts really go the extra mile to make this place feel amazing. Hopefully will be back soon!

Provided that you want peace and quiet, happy to bathe on the veranda rather than in one of the two ensuite bathrooms and love views that are to die for then this is it. With its own artesian spring fed water supply, electricity from its own turbine and its own eco disposal system it is perfect for those who love the environment. The most luxurious cabin I have ever been in, dressing gowns, slippers, spa oils, and a semi stocked food cupboard with those things that you don't need much of but cost a bomb when you add them all up. Bring food for the BBQ etc with you as the nearest shop is some 25k away. As of our hosts who designed and built this piece of heaven they are delightful and if you're lucky they may either deliver you fish or take you fishing.
