Overall it is an amazing place and my partner and I enjoyed the stay there very much. A few small improvements I could suggest: Proper air conditioning in the bedroom at least would be useful in the heat of summer. Also, the 1 and only bathroom being detached from the main property has good novelty factor, but not always practical. I would recommend a toilet at least be contained within the main property. Whilst it didn't bother me as a man, my partner was a little concerned at the perceived lack of privacy in the shower. It might pay to incorporate a blind in there for those more concerned about being ogled by a passing boat, rather than the view. These things considered it is hard to fault the location and design of the property itself. It’s a fantastic retreat.

Our stay at The Glass House was a truly relaxing, luxurious experience. We were at one with nature – being surrounded by it and feeling like we were a part of it. The views of the coast from every room of The Glass House are just gorgeous – you can’t help but relax when you are there. It was an odd feeling having such expansive views yet it was so private – just us and nature. So much so that we saw rabbits and had a visit from a wee rare native frog during our stay! Showering at The Glass House is an experience we won’t forget – ocean view by day and a romantic starry setting by night. And with the window down you truly feel like you are at one with nature. Absolute bliss! We thoroughly enjoyed a walk along the track either side of The Glass House, for yet more breathtaking views from the cliff out over the coast and vast blue sea. We could easily have fallen asleep in the swing seat at one end of the track – it felt like you were swinging out over the cliff and water. But the highlight for us was the fishing from the rocks at the other end of the track which have been made into a very easy walkway to an action-packed fishing spot. We caught plenty of fish to eat – including some very large ones that put up a good fight. It was a lot of fun and we did not have to wait long between bites! As well as the walks and fishing we enjoyed just relaxing in the sun on the deck loungers and soaking up the view and the various genres of music on the sound system – which can be played through speakers in any part of The Glass House – very state of art! The only negative was having to leave this gorgeous slice of paradise and return to the real world.

What a wonderful and unique experience it is staying at the Glasshouse. Situated on the cliff with expansive views from all three floor to ceiling glass walls. Or slide open the glass 'walls' to open the whole house and enjoy the quiet, peaceful, natural surrounds. At night, light the inbuilt fire on the deck and enjoy the night time tranquility and serenity with the open fire. Or select one of the many music albums in the top quality stereo system, turn on the deck speakers and relax to the music The shower is an experience in itself. Situated in its own spot on the cliff edge, the spacious shower is floor to ceiling glass on the seaward side (in keeping with the theme). The top half of this window can be electrically lowered which provides unobstructed views of wonderful Whangarei Heads coastline as you unwind in the lovely warm luxury shower. The only time you will want to leave this facility is to stroll along the local nature tracks to either the swing chair overlooking Bream Head, or to take a dip in the rock pools at the bottom of the well-defined cliff walk. Take your own food, and make use of the well equipped kitchen for a sunrise breakfast on the deck or sunset dinner under the stars. What a relaxing weekend. Thank you!
