Stone Villa is in an excellent location, away from the bustle of the busier resorts on Zakynthos but close enough to a small fishing port with tavernas and shops. The setting is spectacular, so close to the sea, with the opportunity to gaze at the wonderful sunsets and sunrises from the terraces. The superb rooms were beautifully designed and decorated and the whole villa well equipped with lovely touches like the stocked fridge and flowers on our arrival and a maid service during the week (not to mention the attention of the lovely Dias- resident dog). Our host was kind, considerate and most helpful throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for him to organise. We would heartily recommend this villa to anyone wishing a luxurious, peaceful stay in a pretty island.

We had a fantastic fortnight with our family of five. The villa is outstanding and the owner/staff are simply wonderful. The setting is perfect but very secluded. Car hire highly recommended. We will definitely be going back, and I can recommend this villa to any family looking for the perfect combination of outdoor perfection and lovely facilities and the real sense that the owners are genuinely pleased for you to be there.

What an amazing week I had with my friends at the villa! If you are searching for calm, peaceful and incredible view, this is the place. We has such an amazing time and didn't want to leave ever. Thanks to the owner (and Dias) for this amazing experience at your villa and thank you for being such an wonderful host. This is a something I will never forget. The Stone Villa took our breath away on first sight. The location is stunning, the villas are beautifully furnished, and the owner is such a wonderful host. The climb down the cliffs to the sea, and the priest's cave with the sea kayaks inside ready to explore the coast, all add to the fabulous experience. It would be easy to spend the holiday just enjoying the villa! Right at your doorstep you have the port village of St Nikolaos, with too many fantastic restaurants and bars to choose from, the Windmill Café at the point, boats to take you to Shipwreck Cove and to explore the Blue Caves, and the wonderfully friendly locals just make this a holiday destination to top all others. Oh, and did I mention the balmy temperatures - bliss!

We were lucky to book, at very short notice (after a week's fantastic sailing), the villa named Stone Villa. We had the perfect host, meeting us off the Kefalonia ferry and furnishing us with home-grown wines, figs, grapes, aubergines, peppers etc. He arranged a well-priced hire car delivered to the villa (with final airport drop-off at no extra charge). The lovely dog Dias adopted us, swimming and canoeing with the children by day and sleeping outside amongst the beautiful planting at night. The villa itself is extremely well-designed and well-finished - no corners cut - and is individually discreet. It is equipped with everything we could have wanted. As keen fishermen, we particularly liked the underwater camera! Inspired, we hired a motor boat from Agios Nikolaos for coastal exploration and caught a few very tiny fish. We loved our stay and will return next year, five star indeed!

We stayed one week in the Stone Villa end of July. We had a rather long journey to arrive to Zakynthos and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this secluded location. Way off the beaten track, we left the hustle-bustle of the tourist areas behind and were immediately able to relax in the privacy of our villa. It was just as promised on the website, perhaps even better! Pictures cannot do justice to the beauty of this area of Zakynthos. Without the owner picking us up in the little port five minutes away, I doubt we would have ever found it. It is down a dirt/gravel road with no signs or indications about the Stone Villa. Then after a short drive down this road, you arrive at the location. The views from the villa are panoramic and wonderful regardless what time of day it is. We especially loved sitting on our patio in the late mornings sipping on frappe and taking in the morning sun. The villa itself is thoughtfully decorated and stocked with all of the essentials which you will need the first day or two. Fresh fruit, coffee and bread was waiting for us on arrival. The kitchen is wonderfully stocked with all the newest kitchen appliances. We enjoyed the space and tranquility of the villa. In the morning we would be woken by the local rooster patrolling the outside of our villa. The pool is not the largest, but adequate for cooling off. In the evenings the wind picked up, so I recommend a light sweaters/pants just in case. In the evenings we cooked a light dinner or ordered food from a local taverna. Our son was impressed with a wireless internet connection. The living room has a sat tv and dvd player. There was even a telescope for viewing the wonderful night sky. The way down to the sea is a real adventure the first time you go down. It is a mix of stairs, path and rock-way which is at first very challenging. I don't recommend this for very small children as it is very natural without any railing etc. Perhaps even a little scary. But it is worth it 100%. The sea, the caves, the water is unbelievable. I never thought I would find water this clean and clear in the Mediterranean. The ability to go swimming or kayaking to the blue caves directly from your villa is great. The only downside is the amount of tourist boats sailing back and forth, some very very close to the swimming platform. But you can imagine that they all want to see this wonderful area. After about 4 pm it calms down considerably. As mentioned by other reviewers we were escorted down to the sea by the owners golden retriever "Dias". A really great dog who was the attraction of the local tourist boats! Overall we had a great week at the villa. I would definitely stay again, but for at least 10-14 days next time. It will allow you to really unwind and relax. If you are looking for a real break and don't mind being kind of isolated, this is a great place.
